3-d Custom Object Framing

When people think about what picture framers typically do, they generally think about two dimensional artworks. So works on canvas, works on paper, maybe even some photography, but we're not your average framer. So today I'd like to go over a brief example of some of the things we can do with three dimensional objects.

As with everything else we do, our first task is to work with our customer to understand the significance of the piece. This helps to inform what the ultimate presentation will be. Next, we consider any vulnerabilities the object may have. For example, is it fragile, heavy, susceptible to UV damage? This is probably the most important step because our goal is to make sure that the piece is stable before we do anything else to it.

Ultimately, the piece should be able to be unframed years down the road and it would look like it had never been framed at all. Finally, we work on the design frame choices, matting, fabrics used, et cetera. So these are some of the three dimensional framing objects we've been working on this week. Of course, when the project is done, we can deliver it, install it, or pack it for shipping anywhere in the world.
